The ESD will save your life in the event of a hull breach. It monitors the hull integrity of your ship, and if you take more than 50% damage, it will warp you back to Eridani so you can try your run for the core again. Unfortunately, the process is rather unpleasant, and the device burns itself out after one use. Change Log: *Reduced the price of the device to 3000 credits, to make it more accessible to newbies. *Made the armor threshold 50% of your ship's max HP, so you can use higher level armor and not get warped back when the paint gets scratched. *Allowed for non-standard armor setups - Supports any amount of armor plates on your ship. I was working on something similar, but with cooldown and it would repair the damaged hull part with a long cooldown. Good job on this!
